About Us
The Order of the Eastern Star is the largest fraternal organization in the world to which both men and women may belong. Worldwide, there are over 500,000 members. The organization was created in the United States in the early nineteenth century to allow women to join with their Masonic relatives in promoting the values and charitable purposes that are such an important part of the Masonic fraternity. While the Order of the Eastern Star has evolved over the centuries, it still remains rooted in its charitable endeavors and fraternal fellowship.

CharityOES chapters server their communities in a variety of ways. They collect food for needy families, donate school supplies to disadvantaged students, offer scholarships, support Little League teams and hospitals, participate in walkathons to fund research to cure cancer and other deadly diseases, and sponsor Masonic youth organizations (Order of Job's Daughters, the Order of the Rainbow for Girls and Order of DeMolay). Chapters also work together to support several statewide charities, including the Ohio Eastern Star Home and a long-standing OES scholarship program for future pastors and other religious leaders.

Join UsTo inquire about membership, please complete and submit the Contact form below. One of our Chapter members will respond to your inquiry. We will answer your questions and, if interested, help you locate a Chapter near you.
Petitions for membership are signed by the applicant and recommended by two members of the Chapter in which the petition is placed. Specific fees will accompany the petition. Petitions are read at a stated meeting and referred to a committee of three (3) for investigation. Once the investigative committee returns with a favorable report, the petition is voted on and, if approved, you will then be initiated into the Order of the Eastern Star! A member who has been under suspension for non-payment of dues may pay the current year’s dues plus a reinstatement fee. If suspended for more than (1) one year, three-fourths (3/4) of the members present at a stated meeting must vote to consent to reinstatement. To learn more, download our brochure.
